About JBI
James Burn International is the creator and world’s only manufacturer of Original WIRE-O® BINDING WIRE.
Wire-O® is the double loop finishing system used by Professional Binders worldwide for creating finished documents that need to get noticed. Wire-O’s attractive finish, high quality and easy application makes it the preferred choice over other finishing systems.
James Burn International is
the world-renowned leader in wire binding products.
Founded in 1907 in Poughkeepsie, New York by the Trussell brothers as the
Trussell Manufacturing Company, the company originally produced a line of high
quality loose-leaf books. In 1934, the Trussell brothers conceptualized the “Wire-O®
double loop binding wire” and production of Wire-O® commenced the
following year. The sale of the loose-leaf division of the company in the
1950’s, along with the Trussell company name, gave way to the formation of the
Wire-O Corporation, whose primary products included Wire-O® bindings.
In 1978, the Wire-O Corp. was purchased by Standex International and was later
merged into and combined with James Burn Bindings Ltd., a 200 year-old British
bookbinding concern and Lhermite®, a French equipment manufacturer,
to form James Burn International, a full service supplier of quality binding
equipment and materials.
Today, James Burn International (JBI) is an independent company which
headquarters is in France where Lhermite® equipment are being
developed and manufactured. JBI has operations in Singapore, Hong Kong and
Bulgaria and has licensed Wire-O® production to JBI USA owned by
Spiral Binding company for the North America market.
In addition to high quality binding materials, JBI manufactures state of the art
punching and binding equipment under the Lhermite® brand name,
